About
Family REPAIR started with something simple: Sam Hughes wanting to build a life and a living for the people he loves.
Sam grew up turning wrenches. He came to North Dakota from Michigan in 2010, put years into Williston’s shops and oilfield support work, and moved to the Minot area about two years ago. Along the way he worked his way up from turning wrenches himself to running service — rental fleets, diesel and agricultural equipment, oilfield service, and trailer and truck equipment in Minot.
That path wasn’t desk theory. It’s hands-on diesel and heavy equipment: trucks and trailers, hydraulics, air brakes, diagnostics, and the kind of shop and field work where the unit has to run when you’re done. He’s led crews, trained techs, and run operations before opening his own doors.
In September 2026 he founded Family Repair and Trailers LLC as Family REPAIR. The name is the mission. This business is for his wife and kids. It’s meant to last — not just for this season, but for years down the road, when he hopes his boys can step into it and keep it going.
